Where will you be investing your money in 2008? Which countries do you think will make the highest growth in 2008? I am an individual investor from the UK. Despite the fact that the stock market here in the UK only rose by around four percent in 2007 I was able to make some serious money, into double digits by having a robust attitude to risk during the same period. In this article I will be giving my hot tips for 2008, I am not a financial adviser therefore these tips should be in no way seen as advice and you also need to be aware that any investment can down as well as up. There can be no better example of this than the start of 2008 which saw huge falls in stocks throughout the world.

I am fortunate in so much that I have made a lot of money by investing, or gambling as some would call it, in the stock market over the last ten years. I am not immune to losing money however and if the world’s stock markets all crashed, I would of course also lose out. The majority of stock markets are very robust and tend to always bounce back whatever is thrown at it.

I like to invest on a month by month basis. This enables me to take advantage of the benefits of pound cost averaging. This is where my monthly premium is able to purchase more units when the unit price drops.

I also like to take a risk with my money, and would be known as an investor who has a high attitude to risk. My investment strategy has always been to buy low and sell high. In my early twenties I would always buy shares in January in the company which had performed worst in the FTSE 100 in the year before. I would then wait six months, if the share price had fell further I would buy even more shares. I would also have a price in my head where I would sell. This would vary dependent on which shares I had bought.

For 2008 I am going to be investing my money into the following areas: Japan, India and China. These again are high risk, I am investing for the long term and am therefore quite confident in making some serious money.
